“Film Professionals’ Career Information, Simpler and More Accurate”
Korean Film Council Takes First Step Toward Building a Film Professionals’ Career Information Management System Through Improvements to the Korean Film Credit Collection System

- Enhancing communication with the field and strengthening credit data collection to advance the film professionals’ career verification service
- Launch of an Integrated Film Information Management Portal to improve user convenience through a unified information registration channelThe Korean Film Council (KOFIC, Chairperson Han Sang-jun) has announced that it will move forward with the establishment of a Film Professionals’ Career Information Management System by reorganizing the Korean Film Credit Collection System and launching an Integrated Film Information Management Portal. Through these efforts, KOFIC aims to manage film professionals’ career information more accurately and systematically, enhance the credibility of career records within the film industry, and create a user-centered information management environment.
KOFIC has analyzed the film professionals’ work participation records service provided by the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS), as well as the current status of Korean film credit collection, to explore ways to improve the career information management system for film professionals. As a short-term implementation task, KOFIC has prioritized the launch of the Integrated Film Information Management Portal, thereby reorganizing the Korean film credit collection system and film information management system, which serve as the foundational infrastructure for the film professionals’ career verification service.
First, to improve the Korean Film Credit Collection System, KOFIC has unified the submission channels, established clear submission deadlines, and provided detailed manuals for each credit category, comprehensively reorganizing the overall collection process. Through these measures, KOFIC plans to secure foundational data for managing the careers of film industry personnel in a more systematic manner starting in 2026. Based on the collected data, KOFIC will then gradually advance the Film Professionals’ Career Verification Service (work participation records) and the overall career information management system beginning in 2027.
In addition, the newly launched Integrated Film Information Management Portal consolidates previously dispersed registration and revision request channels into a single unified platform. This integration is expected to significantly simplify application procedures for on-site users, including film professionals and production companies, while reducing the likelihood of errors or omissions in information, thereby greatly improving user convenience.
KOFIC stated, “The launch of the Integrated Film Information Management Portal and the reorganization of the Korean Film Credit Collection System mark an important starting point for building a Film Professionals’ Career Information Management System.” The Council added, “Through continuous communication with the field and strengthened credit data collection, we will further enhance related services, including the Film Professionals’ Work Participation Records Service, and work toward the full establishment of a comprehensive career information management system for film professionals.”
Guidelines regarding the use of the Integrated Film Information Management Portal and the submission of Korean film credits can be found on the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS) website (https://www.kobis.or.kr/kobis) under the [Integrated Film Information Management Portal] menu.
