Korean Film Council to Host "Copyright Culture Day with Cinema"
Co-organized with the Korea Copyright Commission, the event will feature a special screening of OK! Madam: Bon Voyage at Busan Cinema Center on its release day.

The Korean Film Council (Chairperson Han Sang-jun, "KOFIC"), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Chae Hwi-young), and the Korea Copyright Commission (Chairperson Kang Seok-won, "KCC") will host a special screening event, "Copyright Culture Day with Cinema," featuring OK! Madam: Bon Voyage, on August 12 (Wednesday) at Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan.
The event is a collaborative initiative linking KOFIC's ongoing policy to revitalize Korean cinema and expand regional access to cultural experiences with the KCC's campaign to promote a healthy copyright culture. It is designed as a meaningful occasion to invite local citizens — including members of underserved cultural groups who have limited access to theaters — to share in the everyday joys of cultural experience and the value of creative work.
Notably, the featured film, OK! Madam: Bon Voyage, is an investment of the Korean Film Fund's film account and was selected for KOFIC's 2023 Pre-Production Development Support Program, receiving KOFIC backing from the planning stage through completion. Its predecessor, OK! Madam, was also a recipient of the Pre-Production Development Support Program, adding significance to this screening as both entries in the series were supported by KOFIC. Through this event, KOFIC plans to share a publicly supported production with local citizens on its release day, taking a leading role in expanding Korean film-viewing culture.
Ahead of the screening, KOFIC and the KCC have prepared a range of hands-on programs for attendees, including an interactive photo booth event, quiz events related to KOFIC support programs and copyright, and a copyright consultation booth.
Individual applications will be accepted via the KCC's official Instagram account from July 29 to August 5. Winners will be notified individually by text message, and admission on the day of the event will require identity verification on-site. Participation is free of charge.
Chairperson Han Sang-jun stated, "It is meaningful to present the second installment of a work born through KOFIC's Pre-Production Development Support Program, following the first, to the citizens of Busan on its release day." He added, "As this event is co-organized with the Korea Copyright Commission, I hope it will be an opportunity for citizens who love film to once again reflect on the value of creative work." He further stated, "KOFIC will continue to expand support for the development of fresh and outstanding Korean film projects and remain committed to creating a viewing environment accessible to all."
Meanwhile, KOFIC will continue its social contribution activities to expand film-viewing opportunities for those in cultural blind spots, while pursuing multifaceted support — from project development through screening — to strengthen the diversity and global competitiveness of Korean cinema.
