Director Maggie Kang of 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' receives the Ok-gwan Order of Cultural Merit at the Korea Content Awards.

Director Maggie Kang, who helmed the Netflix animated hit ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’, will receive the Ok-gwan Order of Cultural Merit.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency will host the 2025 Korea Content Awards Ceremony on the afternoon of the 10th at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, honoring 24 individuals and 15 outstanding works that have contributed to the development of the content industry.
This year, a new Content Industry Development category has been added to the existing awards for overseas expansion, broadcasting and video, and the game industry, bringing the total to four categories recognizing 24 recipients.
Director Kang is being honored for directing ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’, one of the most popular animated titles in Netflix history, and for her contribution to the global expansion of K-culture, K-pop, and related industries.

In the Broadcasting and Video Industry Development category, Kim Won-seok, director of ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’, and Park Ji-eun, writer of ‘Queen of Tears’, will receive the Order of Cultural Merit (Culture Medal).
The Presidential Commendation for overseas expansion goes to Park Young-seok, CEO of Pan Entertainment, and Yoon Hyun-joon, CEO of Studio Slam. Additional Presidential Commendations will be awarded to Mo Eun-seol of the Korea TV & Radio Writers Association (broadcasting and video), Kim Hyung-tae, CEO of Shift Up, and Park Jung-moo, Vice President of Nexon Korea (game industry).
Among outstanding works, 15 titles across three categories—comics, animation, and characters—were selected. The Presidential Award goes to the comic ‘Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint’ and the animated film ‘King of Kings’, while the character ‘Dalnimi’ also receives a Presidential Award.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Hwi-young stated, “We will continue to provide comprehensive support so that Korea’s content industry can keep advancing onto the global stage.”
